Biography
María Montero joined the firm in 2012. She is a senior associate in the firm’s Corporate Legal Services department, with over 10 years of experience in the practice of law, and where she has advised clients on contracts and agreements, corporate and securities law, tax law and insurance matters.
María advises and represents local clients in the financial sector, in cases and matters related to acquisitions, reorganizations, mergers and due diligence. She usually assists local and foreign financial entities, as well as multilateral entities in financing of all kinds and local investments.
María received her Bachelor of Law, cum laude, from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) in 2011. In 2013, she graduated from the Masters in Legal Practice program at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra and the Pellerano & Herrera Foundation, and later in the year 2019, she graduated from the Masters in Tax Law at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra. She has attended courses and seminars on matters related to stock market, drafting of contracts, cross border transactions, community and national law, tax law, among other subjects. María is a member of the Dominican Bar Association and is fluent in Spanish and English.
