Published on:

On March 23, 2020, Dominican Tax Authorities ("DGII for its acronym in Spanish) issued notices numbers 27, 28 and 29-20, establishing the following:

1- Deadline extension has been granted for the filing of the Informative Return for transactions carried out between Related Parties ("DIOR" for its acronym in Spanish) for entities with fiscal period ending in September 30, 2019. The new deadline is April 30, 2020 (originally March 30, 2020) (Notice 27-20).

2- The Acquirer Qualification Certification, that certifies that the construction is at least 80% complete, has been eliminated for the Housing Bond request to be made by the fiduciary. Additionally, since the bond must be requested by the fiduciary, the remittance of the authorization letter has been eliminated, for the deposit of the bond into the Trust's account by the acquirer. (Notice 28-20).

3- As of March 24, 2020, taxpayers classified under special tax regimes may request the corresponding Value Added Tax (Impuesto a la Transferencia de Bienes Industrializados y Servicios (ITBIS)) and Excise Tax (Impuesto Selectivo al Consumo (ISC)) exemptions through the DGII's website (Notice 29-20).
